Popular Japanese restaurant brand opening in major Scottish shopping centre
“We’re focused on choosing locations that complement the Maki & Ramen experience”
Japanese-themed restaurant brand Maki & Ramen has chosen one of Scotland’s largest shopping centres for the next stage of its expansion.
Maki & Ramen is to open a 3,886-square foot restaurant within Frasers Plus Braehead close to Glasgow - marking the brand’s fourth franchised restaurant and second franchise location in Scotland. The latest establishment will seat up to 120 diners.
The deal follows the recent relocation of Stack & Still within the shopping centre, further strengthening its investment in its food and beverage offering.

Michael Salvador, chief operating officer at Maki & Ramen, said: “Braehead was a natural next step for Maki & Ramen. It gives us the opportunity to bring the brand to a destination that already attracts a diverse mix of shoppers, families and leisure visitors, making it the right fit for our next location.
“As we continue to grow, we’re focused on choosing locations that complement the Maki & Ramen experience, and Frasers Plus Braehead offers exactly that.”
Rachel Scott, head of leasing at centre owner Global Mutual, said: “Maki & Ramen is exactly the type of operator we’re looking to attract. The brand has built a strong reputation across Scotland and the decision to choose Frasers Plus Braehead reflects the confidence ambitious brands continue to have in the scheme.
“Every new signing is about strengthening the overall proposition. By bringing together complementary retail, leisure and hospitality operators, we're creating a destination that works for both our customers and our occupiers, supporting long-term commercial success.”
Frasers Plus Braehead is the recently rebranded Braehead shopping and leisure complex next to Renfrew.
