With 2025 almost upon us, and another year of the early 2000s becoming old enough to be considered “vintage”, we’ve decided to take a step back in time.
Before the internet took over and when CD sales were at an all time high, the turn of the millennium was full of promise after Y2K failed to make the world end.
It was also a prime period for pop music as bands from Westlife to All Saints took over the charts, with artists including Craig David, Billie Piper and Britney Spears also releasing various number 1 hits.
With more than two decades between then and now, here are 25 songs turning 25 years old in 2025.
17. Ms Jackson by OutKast
Another song that has gained popularity in recent years thanks to social media, Ms Jackson by OutKast will be 25 in 2025. The song is considered one of the best of the 2000s, and even won the award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 44th Grammys. | Getty Images
18. Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit
Featured in their second album Significant Other, Limp Bizkit’s Break Stuff was released as a single in 2000 and has since been certified Platinum in the UK. 19. Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus
Another classic song from an American rock band, Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus turns 25 years old in 2025. Well past its teenage years, in 2024 it has sold five million copies worldwide. | Getty Images
20. The Next Episode by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg
With an intro that’s instantly recognizable, The Next Episode by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg was first released as a single in 2000. Despite failing to hit number one in the UK, only peaking in third position, the track has since gone double-platinum, selling more than 1.2 million units in the UK alone. | Getty Images
