One of the most highly-anticipated films of the yearhas premiered at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square - and one of the stars on show on the big screen was Scotland.
Director Christopher Nolan shot part of his adaptation of epic Homer poem The Odyssey on the Moray Coast, as well as in locations in Morocco, Greece, Italy, Iceland, and Western Sahara.
It’s the latest big budget film to be set in Scotland in recent years - from The Avengers, Batman and Spider-man, to Frankenstein, James Bond and Indiana Jones, everywhere from Waverley Station to Glencoe has popped up in cinematic blockbusters.
The human stars certainly turned out in force for the first screening of the the film last night (Monday, July 7), which tells the story of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, and his journey home after the decade-long Trojan War.
Coming after Nolan’s hugely successful Oscar-dominating biopic Oppenheimer, it is expected to keep multiplexes packed for weeks over the summer.
And the initial indications from social media suggest that the British director has another critical hit on his hands.
Here are 20 pictures of the stars at the premiere.
