This week sees a fresh batch of candidates compete to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the 20th series of the long-running BBC show The Apprentice.
First broadcast in the UK in February 2005, following the success of the American version featuring a certain Donald J. Trump, The Apprentice is one of the Beeb’s most successful shows.
Originally aired on BBC 2 it soon made the transition to BBC One, as viewers became hooked on the tasks set by Amstrad founder Lord Sugar.
Season 20 of the show will launch on Thursday, January 29, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
And the first episode will see the boardroom held in Hong Kong - with Baroness Karren Brady and former winner Tim Campbell advising Lord Sugar on the suitability of the candidates.
The last entrepreneur standing will receive a cool quarter-of-a-million pound investment, along with mentorship from Lord Sugar himself.
We’ve already taken a look at their all-important business plans.
Now we’re looking at why each of the 20 candidates reckon they deserve the cash.

17. Dan Miller
"After running my company for almost 10 years on my own, it's time for me to look for a seasoned business professional to help me scale and take my company to the next level. There is still a lot for me to learn and getting mentored and supported from Lord Sugar would be incredible. The investment would be a life changing amount of cash injected into my company for us to scale and grow into different markets and develop new products." | BBC

18. Conor Galvin
"I’m from a small village in rural Ireland, and I’ve gone from that to working with major multinational companies across Europe. My business is proven, but to expand properly with hubs and a clear growth strategy, I know I need guidance. My biggest challenge will be getting Lord Sugar to see me as a serious candidate. There’s a duality to what I do: the business is fun and light-hearted, but behind it I’m constantly learning the tougher side of strategy, structure and scaling. If Lord Sugar can look past the novelty and see the substance, I know this can grow." | BBC

19. Carrington Saunders
"I come from a divorced household, which taught me early on the value of hard work and resilience. While studying at university, I invested my own money to launch Cas Collection, growing it into a successful business alongside achieving a first class degree. I deeply understand what women want from fashion to feel confident and good in themselves and that mission drives everything I do. I am extremely hardworking, resilient, and tenacious, and with Lord Sugar’s experience and support, I truly believe we can take this business to the next level and make a lasting difference for my family and the women my brand serves." | BBC

20. Andrea Cooper
"Lord Sugar is interested in property businesses like me and I feel he will be interested in a business where there is a gap in the market. My proven track record can evidence that I am willing to put my whole into something that will work, and he will not regret taking me on as I am honest, a realist and will say it how it is. No beating around the bush! I have years of life experience behind me which most other candidates lack." | BBC
