This week sees a fresh batch of candidates compete to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the 20th series of the long-running BBC show The Apprentice.
First broadcast in the UK in February 2005, following the success of the American version featuring a certain Donald J. Trump, The Apprentice is one of the Beeb’s most successful shows.
Originally aired on BBC 2 it soon made the transition to BBC One, as viewers became hooked on the tasks set by Amstrad founder Lord Sugar.
Season 20 of the show will launch on Thursday, January 29, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
And the first episode will see the boardroom held in Hong Kong - with Baroness Karren Brady and former winner Tim Campbell advising Lord Sugar on the suitability of the candidates.
The last entrepreneur standing will receive a cool quarter-of-a-million pound investment, along with mentorship from Lord Sugar himself.
We’ve already taken a look at their all-important business plans.
Now we’re looking at why each of the 20 candidates reckon they deserve the cash.

"I have worked tirelessly over the years to build a strong and loyal client base, offering one of the best estate agency services in and around London. My dedication, experience and reputation allows me to understand the market deeply and deliver exceptional results. Estate agents often suffer from a poor reputation, but together we can change that. By combining my industry expertise with Lord Sugar’s guidance and resources, we can set a new standard for trust and professionalism." | BBC

14. Karishma Vijay
"I deserve Lord Sugar’s investment as I am a risk taker, like him. He invested a substantial amount of money into his first beauty venture and so have I with Kishkin. We both came from nothing and started from scratch. I have been supporting my whole family financially since I started earning and my life’s dream is to build my dad a home. Kishkin is not just a business idea, this could change my family's future. I don’t come from money and where I come from girls don’t even step into the realm of business. This isn’t just for me, I’m trying to build a legacy." | BBC

15. Harry Clough
"I deserve Lord Sugar’s investment because I’m bold, creative, and not afraid to take risks. I’ve failed more times than I can count, but every knock has made me tougher, smarter, and more determined to win. I don’t just think outside the box, I flip it over and turn it into a business idea. I take my work seriously, but never myself, because personality sells as much as product. My hunger to make it on my own is exactly what drives me. I’m proof that you can be funny, fearless, and ambitious all at once and that’s exactly the kind of partner Lord Sugar needs." | BBC

"If there’s anything I'm familiar with in my career so far, it’s rejection. I’ve been told “no” thousands of times, “you aren’t quite right,” “you don’t quite fit. ” Every “no” I've had has never stopped me, I've not let it bring me down, I've used that “no” to springboard myself forward into doing something more amazing than the last! Not only am I driven, charismatic, great at sales, great with people of all ages, resilient, sharp-witted and brave, but I am also kind, empathetic and lead with integrity. I believe there should be more kind people paving the way in business and that’s what I am here to do." | bbc
