It may be nearly four months until the full programme is launched (June 3 to be exact) but the first tickets for this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe are now on sale.
A total of 351 shows have been announced featuring everything from some of the biggest names in standup to award-winning musicals.
The cultural feast will this year take place from August 7-31 turning the pubs, basements and lecture theatres of Scotland’s Capital into performance spaces.
Here are the 17 shows announced so far that caught our eye. You can buy tickets for all of them on the Fringe website here.

1. Phil Ellis: Bath Mat (Monkey Barrell)
This very newspaper hailed Phil Ellis as a "comedy genius" and he keeps on producing comedy shows that prove us right (we still can't look at the musical 'Cats' in the same way). It promises to be "jam-packed with laugh-out-loud profound silliness, superbly crafted gags and constant surprises." | Contributed

2. 360 ALLSTARS (Assembly Hall)
No a real Fringe favourite, 360 ALLSTARS combines BMX, basketball, breakdancing, beatboxing, acrobatics, drumming and plenty more to create an urban circus. It has been seen by more than 2 million people worldwide and has been sold out on Broadway and at the Sydney Opera House. | IMG Artists/Matt Loncar

3. Ari Eldjárn: The Icelander's Guide to Europe (Monkey Barrel)
He's already the star of his own Netflix special and now Ari Eldjárn is coming to the Fringe for three shows only from August 28-30. The Icelandic comic will be taking a look at everything European as viewed from his home in the chilly north. | Netflix

4. Baby Wants Candy (Assembly George Square)
Another staple of Edinburgh in August, 'Baby Wants Candy' is a group of improv comedians from America who promise to make up a brand new (funny) musical every night. If you bump into them between shows they might even give you a free sweet. | Contributed
