Saturday Night Live made its UK debut earlier this year, with some of the country’s funniest comedians selected for the show.
Among them are plenty of familiar faces at the Edinburgh Fringe, including Scotland’s own Larry Dean and other critically acclaimed performers such as Paddy Young, Ania Magliano and Ayoade Bamgboye.
As well as cast members, this year’s festival will also see a host of SNL UK’s writers putting on shows including the likes of Chris Cantrill and Edinburgh local Ayo Adenekan.

5. Ayo Adenekan
Finally, winner of Best Newcomer at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2025 for his debut show, Ayo Adenekan is back at the 2026 Fringe with his new hour of stand up Homeland Insecurity. The SNL UK writer - who is originally from Edinburgh - will perform at Monkey Barrel from August 4-30. | Contributed
6. Jonno
SNL UK’s head writer Daran "Jonno" Johnson is bringing his show Here Comes Mr Funny to the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe. With its description addressing his future son, the intriguing stand up hour will be at Monkey Barrel from August 3-30. | Contributed
7. Celya AB
Celya AB brought her work in progress show to last year’s Fringe following her acclaimed 2022 show Swimming from 2022, which The Scotsman awarded 4 stars. Now the SNL UK writer will bring We Must Stop Meeting Like This to Monkey Barrel from August 4-30. | Contributed
8. Omar Badawy
Another SNL UK writer, Omar Badawy will make his highly anticipated debut at this year’s Fringe with Guided Detour which follows him accidentally finding himself in the middle of a far-right march. You can catch Badawy at Pleasance Courtyard from August 5-30. | MATT STRONGE
