The 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe has officially begun, with a huge selection of comedy shows running throughout August.
With such a huge programme of events lined up, trying to choose which shows to see can quickly become overwhelming - but that’s where we can lend a hand.
At The Scotsman, our reviewers have been busy reviewing as many comedy performances as possible, all to help readers decide which to see and which to skip.
So if you’re ready to book some tickets, here are all of the comedy shows that have received a four or five star review from The Scotsman so far.
All tickets will be available from the Edinburgh Fringe website.
The Scotsman has been covering the Edinburgh Festivals since they first began in 1947, with a team of expert critics set to bring you reviews daily throughout August.
As part of our comprehensive coverage, we will also celebrate the best new writing at the Fringe with our long-running Fringe First Awards, sponsored this year by Queen Margaret University and Stagecoach.
Past winners include Billy Connolly - who won in 1977 for his show When Hair Was Long and Time Was Short - as well as Phoebe Waller-Bridge who received the award in 2013 for her original version of Fleabag.
To stay up to date, why not sign up to our weekly Arts and Culture newsletter? So you don’t miss a thing, it will be sent sent daily during August.
And if you aren’t already, now would be the perfect time to subscribe to The Scotsman for unlimited access to our unrivalled festival coverage. You can find out more here.
