It’s summer in Glasgow, with the schools still off and the second week of the Fair Fortnight underway.
It means the city’s a little quieter than usual, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not plenty on.

5. Follow the Yellow Brick Road
This evening is the second performance of the Oran Mor's new show 'The Pure Amazing Wiz of Oz'. It promises an "all singing, all dancing banterlicious family show with a first-class professional cast". It starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £17. | Contributed

6. See one of the all-time greats on the big screen
It's been 40 years since Milos Forman's masterpiece 'Amadeus' was released - going on to be both a box office smash and critically acclaimed, sweeping the Oscars. The Glasgow Film Theatre is marking its anniversary by offering the rare chance to see the original version on the big screen. It's screening today at 7.40pm. | Contributed

7. Have an art attack
Another cheap (free!) way to while away a couple of hours in the city is to pop into Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA). As well as enjoying the permanent exhibitions, which includes work by many of the biggest names in contemporary art, you can also check out the current show by Canadian/Irish artist Ciara Phillips. 'Undoing it' showcases her vibrant woodcuts, etchings and screen-prints in Gallery 3. | Google Maps

8. Catch an outdoor film screening
There are a series of free films being shown this month at Glasgow's Queen's Park Arena. There are still tickets available (there's no charge but you do need to book in advance) for today's screenings of 'The Wizard of Oz' at 1.30pm and 'The School of Rock' from 6pm. | Contributed
