It’s summer in Glasgow, with the schools off and the Fair Fortnight underway.
It means the city’s a little quieter than usual, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not plenty on.

9. Hit the beach - whatever the weather
The weather forecast isn't great today, but your kids can still enjoy the sand at the indoor Flamingo Beach at Braehead – open from 10am to 5pm. For a £3.25 donation to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity the wee ones can enjoy playing for half an hour while you you enjoy a cuppa. You can then enjoy shopping - using the discounts available on your Flamingo Beach wristband. | Contributed

10. Enjoy a free organ recital in one of Glasgow's most beautiful buildings
One of Glasgow's best free museum, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a wonderful place to visit. But if you make sure you are in the ornate main hall at 3pm today you'll be able to hear a free organ recital. On Sunday you can expect classical music. | Canva/Getty Images

11. Experience a kinetic theatre
Located on Glasgow's Trongate, Sharmanka is one of the city's more unique attractions - shows put on using an extensive collection of kinetic (moving) sculptures assembled from found objects, beautiful scrap and exquisitely hand carved characters. You can catch three shows today, 'Journey' at 1.30pm and 3.30pm and 'Wheels of Life' at 5.15pm. Tickets start at £10.78 for children, rising to £17.25 for adults. | Contributed
