Celebrating Fisherman's Blues, The Waterboys will be joined by Steve Earle for a special show at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow this weekend.
The Waterboys will soon headline Glasgow’s OVO Hydro as part of their Fisherman’s Blues Revue tour.
During their night in Scotland, the Mike Scott fronted band will celebrate music from their album era of the same name with the shows following the release of Atlantic Rain, a collection of their previously undiscovered music.
The Waterboys will be on tour with special guest, American singer-songwriter Steve Earle, as well as fiddler Steve Wickham, who re-joins the band for the Fisherman’s Blues Revue tour. Other band members include Brother Paul, Famous James, Aongus Ralston, Eamon Ferris and Roar Øien.
Speaking about the tour, Edinburgh-born Scott said: "The Fisherman's era was a transcendent time for The Waterboys and it's always exciting to delve into its spirit and see what happens. We'll be performing with an eight-piece band including the mighty Steve Earle who I've wanted to do a project with for many years. He'll bring Americana roots and killer songs to the party, and these promise to be among the best Waterboys shows ever."

Steve Earle joining The Waterboys on tour
As well as performing as a member of the Revue, Steve Earle will sing some of his own songs during the Glasgow show, as well as adding guitar, mandolin and vocals to the Waterboys.

Doors will open for The Waterboys at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow from 6.30pm.

According to the official OVO Hydro website, tickets will range from £53.60 to £70.05 in price.
That being said, if purchasing verified resale tickets from sites such as Ticketmaster, they may be priced even lower.

Yes, only over 14s will be permitted in the standing area of the OVO Hydro, with anyone under 16 to be accompanied by an adult over 18.

As The Waterboys’ upcoming Glasgow show is the first of the Fisherman’s Blues Revue tour, we don’t know exactly what songs they will perform - though it is safe to assume fans should expect to hear most, in not all, of the 1988 album as well as forgotten tracks from Atlantic Rain. There will also be some original music from Steve Earle.
