Formed in Oklahoma in 1983, The Flaming Lips first tasted mainstream success with 1993 single She Don’t Use Jelly.
Universal acclaim and further fame arrived in 1999 with The Soft Bulletin, named NME’s Album of the Year, before hitting the UK top 15 album charts with Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
Led by charismatic frontman Wayne Coyne, who is the only remaining original member, the band have released a total of 16 studio albums, winning three Grammy Awards.
