Taylor Swift Record Store Day 2026: Here's how to get your hands on the exclusive Elizabeth Taylor violet glitter vinyl record

It’s the biggest day of the year for independent music retailers.
This Saturday (April 18) is Record Store Day - a major event for vinyl lovers that started in 2007 with a handful of limited edition pressings by artists such as Death Cab for Cutie, R.E.M. and Stephen Malkmus.
Now over 200 independent record stores across the UK take part each year, selling thousands of copies of exclusive vinyl, from new releases to old classics.
And one of the most keenly-anticipated releases is a 7’’ 'Cry My Eyes Violet Glitter' vinyl record of megastar Taylor Swift’s latest single Elizabeth Taylor.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to bag one.
When is Record Store Day 2026?
It will be happening on Saturday, April 18, with the majority of releases available from participating stores.

How does Record Store Day work?
Record Store Day shops are prohibited from reserving records for particular customers or offering records online on the day itself and a couple of days after.
In short: to stand the best chance of getting any particular item you’ll need to physically attend the shop.
How do the Record Store Day queues work?
Queues will start to form outside most shops well before they open, so if there’s something you can’t stand to miss out on, the earlier you can get to the shop the better.
The majority of stores ask you to write out your wishlist while in the queue – so don’t forget a pen and paper – collecting it before you enter the shop and packing up your order so it is waiting for you at the counter.
This speeds up the process, while later in the day shoppers can flick through titles on the shop floor.
Can I buy the Taylor Swift Elizabeth Taylor Record Store Day vinyl online?
This year shops will be able to offer any unsold stock online from 8pm on Monday, April 20. So, if there are any Taylor Swift records left you’ll be able to snap them up then - we suspect you’ll have to be pretty quick though.
What music is on the Taylor Swift Record Store Day vinyl?
The record features the original version of Elizabeth Taylor, with the ‘So Glamorous Cabaret Version’ on the b-side.
What else is happening on Record Store Day 2026?
There are plenty of other exclusive records on offer other than Taylor’s - artists taking part include Air, Arcade Fire, Blur, Bruce Springsteen, Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, CMAT, The Cure, David Bowie, The Doors, Elton John, Fall Out Boy, Fleetwood Mac, HAIM, John Lennon, KISS, Lucy Dacus, Madonna, Miles David, Muse, Olivia Dean, Paramore, Paul Weller, Pink Floyd, Robert Plant, Selena Gomez, Self Esteem, Suede, Supergrass, Taylor Swift, Thin Lizzy and The Vaccines.
