It may only be October, but thoughts are already turning to next summer’s music festivals, with Barcelona’s Primavera Sound having recently announced their full lineup.
With Glastonbury already sold out, music fans who didn’t manage to bag a ticket will be looking at going to the other big British music festivals, with Download expected to make a first announcement by the end of the month.
Meanwhile in Scotland the organisers of TRNSMT haven’t even announced dates for the Glasgow festival - keeping fans waiting to see whether it will even take place.
One of the biggest events of 2027 in the UK will be The Reading and Leeds Festivals, which will take place from August 26-29.
Dating back to 1961, when it was known as the National Jazz Festival, the event was first only held in Reading but since 1999 encompasses twin festivals taking place over the same weekend with a near-identical lineup.
The Reading part is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, while the Leeds portion is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby.
Many of the biggest names in music have headlined over the years, including Nirvana, Oasis, Blur, Fall Out Boy, Metallica, The Cure, Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys and Pink Floyd.
Here are 13 acts who are rumoured to be entering the festival’s roll of honour next year.

9. Doechii
Reading and Leeds have increasingly embraced rap in recent years - Dave, Travis Scott and Megan Thee Stallion being three recent headliners. Superstar rapper Doechii has already been announced as one of the headliners for Primavera Sound so will be in Europe during festival season, including the Reading and Leeds weekend. | Getty Images for BET

10. Eminem
When it comes to rap there are few bigger names than Eminem, who last headlined Reading and Leeds in 2017. Booking him would be a real coup for festival organisers, particularly if it was a UK exclusive. The only problem is that Slim Shady hasn't announced any touring plans for next year...yet. 11. The Prodigy
The Prodigy attracted a huge crowd at Glastonbury last year, with an intense and celebratory set that felt like a headliner. They topped the bill at Reading and Leeds in 2002 and, judging by their current form, there's no reason they couldn't again. | Getty Images

12. Lewis Capaldi
'Scotland's Beyonce' has unfinished business with the Reading and Leeds Festival - he was meant to headline in 2023 but had to withdraw due to his much-publicised health battles. The 1975 stepped in to belatedly take his place. Capaldi's ongoing triumphant comeback that started at numerous festivals this year could continue in summer 2027. | AFP via Getty Images
