It may only be November but thoughts are already turning to next summer’s music festivals.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals will take place from Thursday, August 21, to Sunday, August 2, with tickets already on sale - desite not a single act having been named.
Dating back to 1961, when it was known as the National Jazz Festival, the event was first only held in Reading but since 1999 encompasses twin festivals taking place over the same weekend with a near-identical lineup.
The Reading part is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, while the Leeds portion is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby.
Many of the biggest names in music have headlined over the years, including Nirvana, Oasis, Blur, Fall Out Boy, Metallica, The Cure, Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys and Pink Floyd.
Here are the 13 acts who could enter the festival’s roll of honour next year.

5. Linkin Park
Linkin Park's headline slot in 2003 is often mentioned as one of the best in the festival's history - no mean achievement considering that year alone Metallica and Blur also topped the bull. Could 2025 be the right time for a return? | Getty Images

6. Olivia Rodrigo
With Taylor Swift presumably taking a break from performing following her gargantuan Eras Tour, Olivia Rodrigo is probably the most sought after pop princess for festival bookers in 2025. She has a rocky edge, and Reading and Leeds have been leaning into the poppier areas of late - she'd certainly sell a fair few tickets and has proved with her recent Netflix concert film that she can headline. | Getty Images

7. Paramore
Paramore seemed to have a blast supporting Taylor Swift during this year's enormous Eras UK Tour. It's unlikely that anybody would appear above Hayley Williams' band on the bill were they to return to Reading and Leeds in 2025. | Getty Images

8. My Chemical Romance
Emo trailblazers My Chemical Romance have recently announced a series of US stadium gigs where they will be playing classic record The Black Parade in full. It's a little tight, but there is a gap in their schedule for the Reading and Leeds Festival. We realise this may be a case of wishful thinking. | Getty Images
