It’s a homecoming of sorts for lead singer Brian Molko, who spent part of his childhood living in Scotland.

Formed in London in 1994, Placebo rose to fame when 1997 hit single Nancy Boy became an unlikley anthem of the Britpop era.

Their self-titled debut album did well in the UK but it was their second album, 1998’s Without You I’m Nothing, that saw them become international stars, with its top 10 singles Pure Morning and You Don't Care About Us.

Lead singer Brian Molko and bassist Stefan Olsdal are the only band members who remain from the early days, and the duo have now released a total of eight studio albums, most recently 2022’s Never Let Me Go.

Along the way they’ve recieved countless awards, sold over 14 million records worldwide and collaborated with the likes of David Bowie and Michael Stipe.

Now they are heading out on tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary and there’s good news for Scottish fans - with a huge gig in Glasgow.
