First held in 1970 as the Pop, Blues & Folk Festival - when just 1,500 people attended - Glastonbury has grown to become a major event in the British cultural calendar, with most of the biggest names in music having played it at least once.
Last year over 200,000 enjoyed headline sets from Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975, along with hundreds of other bands playing countless stages of all sizes - and millions watched the extensive television coverage.
As part of the green ethos of organisers Michael and Emily Evis, the event taking a break every five years to give the working farm some time to rejuvenate from the inevitable wear and tear caused - and this year was one such ‘fallow year’.
The resultant gap in 2026’s music festival has, if anything, only increased speculation as to who will be topping the bill in 2027.
And the rumours have intensified this week after organisers confirmed when tickets would go on sale and how much they will cost - the answers being on October 1 and £408.
Here are the 11 most likely headliners on of the three nights on the Pyramid Stage, according to the bookies.

5. Oasis - 5/2
Even the biggest fan of the Gallagher brothers might be surprised just how smoothly their enormous reunion tour went. They have already dropped hints of more gigs down the line, including dates at Glasgow's Celtic Park and surely would relish topping the bill at the Pyramid Stage for the first time since 2004? According to Liam Gallagher, apparently not - he stifled rumours of a headline slot with an expletive-littered post on social media. The bookies reckon he may be protesting a little to much and, with a Glasto-shaped hole in their leaked tour schedule, their odds have since shortened further to 5/2. | Getty Images

6. Fred Again - 4/1
British producer and DJ Fred Again has proven he can deliver on the biggest of stages - headlining Reading and Leeds in 2024. That was the same year he played a 'secret set' at Glastonbury's Strummerville Stage. He's regularly spoken of his love for the festival, so it would be a dream for him to headline in 2027. | AFP via Getty Images

7. Ed Sheeran - 5/1
Ed Sheeran has plenty of history at Glastonbury. He first played on the tiny Croissant Neuf stage in 2011 shortly before his debut album came out. He was third on the the bill on the Pyramid Stage in 2014, then closed the entire festival in 2017, attracting an emormous crowd. He's highly fancied to make a return in 2027 to make the 10th anniversary of that performance - although his odds have slipped a little of late to 5/1. | Getty Images

8. Florence and the Machine - 6/1
Florence + The Machine have enjoyed another great year, playing huge outdoor gigs following the success of latest album 'Everybody Scream'. Their odds of a headline spot at Worthy Farm have slowly been shortening in recent weeks and now sit at just 6/1. | Getty Images for Florence + the
