April is shaping up to be another great month for live music in Glasgow.
From popstars such as Olivia Dean – who has won a Grammy, two BRITs and three MOBOs just this year – and Alex Warren, to old favourites such as Rick Astley, Happy Mondays and The Prodigy, there are many exciting shows lined up for Glasgow before the end of the month.
As well as familiar names, there are a number of up and coming artists set to make their mark on the city over the coming weeks as well, such as Falkirk folk band Brògeal, Nottingham post-punk trio Bloodworm, and experimental Irish rockers Just Mustard, who will support The Cure in Edinburgh this August.
There are plenty of other gigs to look out for as well, with noughties chart-toppers Akon and Ne-Yo coming to the OVO Hydro for a co-headline tour, boyband Blue’s 25th anniversary show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, and performances at the Barras from The Skids, Valtos and more.
But if you’re looking for just the highlights, here are 28 of the best concerts happening in Glasgow throughout April.
