With just six weeks to Christmas, it’s time to get organised for the festive season - and that means sorting out your annual night out with friends, family or workmates.
Luckily there’s no shortage of seasonal entertainment on offer in Edinburgh for you to enjoy, from 80s pop stars to traditional pantomimes (oh yes there is!).
Here are 10 that caught our eyes - with tickets currently available for all of them.

9. Toyah & Robert's Christmas Party 2024
Pop star Toyah Willcox and King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp are teaming up for a special Christmas show featuring a selection of classic rock hits. They're playing the Queen's Hall on Monday, December 16. Toyah says: “It is inevitable that our kitchen high jinx hits the road, because, as Sunday Lunch has proven, the whole world loves classic rock and wants to let their hair down at Christmas! Who better to do that with than two rock legends, who can really rock out and make you laugh at the same time!” | Contributed

10. The Sleeping Beauty
Morningside's Church Hill Theatre have a full festive programme, including Edinburgh People's Theatre's annual panto - which this year is The Sleeping Beauty. Catch it from December 13-22. "King Nolly and Queen Dottie of Woollyglen, the land of sheep and spinning wheels, are excited for the Royal Christening of their beautiful daughter, Princess Aurora. The wicked fairy, Carabosse, and her naughty feline accomplice, Spindleshanks, so mightily miffed at not receiving an invitation, interrupt the ceremony and place a curse on the Princess. Luckily, Fairy Peaceful reduces the spell to an enchanted sleep of 100 years to be awakened by the kiss of a true Prince." | Contributed
