Under the Radar: Fog Bandits

Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon reckon Fog Bandits are a force to be reckoned with
Glasgow four-piece Fog Bandits have wasted no time establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with since their debut single, Coven, was released last year. A melodic nod to nu-metal, with a sprinkling of magic by Dead Pony’s Blair Chrichton on production duties, it was followed by the punkier Vile.
The band already have a sold-out King Tut’s show to their name, as well as festival slots at Stag & Dagger, Tenement Trail and Crowded Flat. Moreover, support slots have included My Chemical Romance guitarist LS Dunes, as well as local heroes VUKOVI and Dead Pony.
On Wednesday they release their latest banger, Try Me, which blends a synths and guitar mix, reminiscent of Gary Numan’s more industrial output. The following night (9 July), sees Fog Bandits headline Glasgow’s McChuills and on the 17 July they head to Edinburgh to play the Off The Record showcase at Sneaky Pete’s, sharing a bill with Alcatraz, Becca Hunter, Fog Bandits and The Sankaras
Next, it’s a Commonwealth Games event at SWG3 on 24 July, some days in the studio and a new single scheduled for September.
