It’s week five of ‘the process’.

A fresh batch of candidates are competing to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the 20th series of the long-running BBC show The Apprentice.

First broadcast in the UK in February 2005, following the success of the American version featuring a certain Donald J. Trump, The Apprentice is one of the Beeb’s most successful shows.

Originally aired on BBC 2 it soon made the transition to BBC One, as viewers became hooked on the tasks set by Amstrad founder Lord Sugar.

Season 20 of the show launched on Thursday, January 29, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The first episode saw the boardroom held in Hong Kong - with Baroness Karren Brady and former winner Tim Campbell advising Lord Sugar on the suitability of the candidates.

Week two seek saw then attempt to create a children’s story book...with mixed results, while they were challenged to create a canapé based on either chicken or egg and sell it to a corporate client in week three.

And last week saw Scottish contestant Roxanne Hamedi given the boot after failing to impress on a challenge to advertise bottled water.

The last entrepreneur standing will receive a cool quarter-of-a-million pound investment, along with mentorship from Lord Sugar himself.

When is the next episode of The Apprentice?

Episode five of Season 20 of the show will be shown on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer on Thursday, February 26, at 9pm.

What is the episode five challenge?

The candidates are challenged with turning petals into profits, selling flowers to the public and corporate clients.

Who has been fired so far?

Nikki Jetha and Georgina Newton were fired in episode one, with Marcus Donkoh following them out of the door in week two, Tanmay Hingorani in week three and Roxanne Hamedi in week four.
