Popular destinations such as Butlins and Pontins have been named among the UK’s worst holiday parks, according to new research.
A new survey by consumer organisation Which? found that big name holiday parks fared worse than smaller brands such as Potters Resorts, which was named best in the UK.
Meanwhile, the best holiday park in Scotland belongs to Forest Holidays which has three locations in Argyll, Peebles and Stirling.
More than 1,700 consumers were asked to rate their visits to holiday parks on factors such as price per night, value for money and more. Potters Resorts, the best performing brand, scored 87% while Pontins, the worst performing brand, was given just 56%.
Here are the best and worst holiday parks in Scotland and the UK.

13. Park Holidays UK – 66%
Again, only further down the list of the UK’s best and worst holiday parks by a small margin, Park Holidays was given a score of 66%. Park Holidays operates four sites in Scotland, in Burghead, and Turnberry with two in Lossiemouth. | stylefoto24 - stock.adobe.com

14. Away Resorts – 64%
With two holiday parks in Scotland – Moffat Manor and Piperdam – Away Resorts received a customer satisfaction score of 64%, again just slightly below those before it. | Google Maps

15. Largo Leisure Parks – 64%
The only provider to only have locations in Scotland is Largo Leisure Parks, which was also given a score of 64% in Which’s guide to the UK’s best and worst holiday parks. However, one thing to note is that the survey highlights that there were not enough responses to generate a rating across the majority of categories. | Richard Johnson - stock.adobe.com

16. Pontins – 56%
Meanwhile, coming in dead last is Pontins. The brand received two-star ratings for its customer service, quality of accommodation, cleanliness, variety of free facilities, quality of facilities and activities, food and drink and value for money – though it received three stars for communication and the quality of entertainment. | Sue Edmondson - stock.adobe.com
