Letter – SRU stance on deferring wages is an ‘immoral scandal’
Reaction to leading Scottish Rugby Union executives and coaches agreeing to take pay “deferrals” but not cuts in the face of the Covid-19 crisis
Whilst the rest of the rugby world comes out in support for their nations by taking a reduction in salary, the SRU Board has stated that their salaries and that of senior management will be deferred.
This is an immoral scandal in light of what the population and rugby support worldwide is experiencing currently.
I will not be renewing my Glasgow Warriors subscriptions of many years standing due to their action. The SRU Board do not appear to be sensitive to what is happening in the local community or worldwide.
The majority of the country will be financially affected and many possibly unemployed.
