Scottish duo win all four matches as GB&I on verge of lifting PGA Cup
David Scott’s side need just two points to win the biennial contest for the first time since 2017
Great Britain & Ireland, captained by David Scott, hold a commanding 11.5-4.5 lead over the United States heading into the final day of the 32nd PGA Cup in Ireland.
After winning the morning foursomes 3.5-0.5 on the second day at The K Club then sharing the afternoon fourballs, the home side need just two points to win the biennial contest for the first time since 2017.
It was another successful day for Scottish duo Graeme Robertson and Gavin Hay as Scott’s decision to play them together proved a very good move indeed.

The PGA in Scotland pair beat Tyler Collet and Jesse Droemer 2&1 in the morning before adding a hard-earned one-hole win over Collet and Garrett Sapp in the afternoon session.
It meant that Robertson and Hay had won all four of their matches over the first two days.
“It was a great match, some crucial birdies,” said Glenbervie-attached Robertson, who warmed up for his debut in the event by making his eighth successive cut on the Hotel Planner Tour this season.
“I fell away at the end, but my partner was there to bail me out.”Hay, who is attached to East Renfrewshire, added: “It was good, I lost my game a bit today. I was struggling off the tee, but my partner was there to bail me out.
“Wwe couldn’t get any putts to drop at all. Graeme got a few birdies on the back nine. A great way to get the win at the last.”
