Scotland’s long winless run against Ireland now stretches to 11 matches after going down 32-18 at Murrayfield in the Six Nations.
The Scots were left chasing the game right from the off against the defending champions, who showed a ruthless and clinical edge to leave Edinburgh with a bonus-point victory.
Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend is still yet to get the better of the Irish during his seven-and-a-half year tenure and it was a familiar tale of woe for the hosts, who were second best all over the pitch.
Their hopes were dashed further by a sickening collision between stand-off Finn Russell and winger Darcy Graham on the 20-minute mark, ending the match for both players. Graham had to be taken off on a stretcher, although he was able to applaud the fans.
Scotland’s two tries came from Duhan van der Merwe right at the end of the first half and Ben White in the 76th minute, while Blair Kinghorn kicked eight points.
Ireland once again cemented their status as one of the best teams in the world, with their tries coming from Calvin Nash, Caelan Doris, James Lowe and Jack Conan, with stand-off Sam Prendergast kicking 12 points.
Scotland are back in action a week on Saturday when they face England in the Calcutta Cup clash at Twickenham.
We give each player in dark blue a mark out of ten for their performance at Murrayfield.

13. Huw Jones
One lovely break ought to have set up a Scotland try early in the second half but the hat-trick hero of last week was largely kept in check. One of Scotland's better performers, though. 6 | SNS Group

14. Darcy Graham
Huge tackle on Calvin Nash when Scotland were a man down, but his game was brought to a shuddering halt on 22 minutes when he took a serious blow to the head from his teammate Finn Russell. Left pitch on a stretcher in a neck brace and was replaced by Jamie Dobie. n/a | SNS Group / SRU

15. Blair Kinghorn
Mixed bag from the dynamic full-back. Got himself in a guddle close to his tryline when taking too long to clear his lines on 20 minutes. Recovered well after that with some searing runs and a good piece of defensive work to stop Jamison Gibson-Park scoring a try, but then failed to hold on to James Lowe for a crucial Ireland score. Booted over eight points but did miss a conversion. 5 | SNS Group / SRU

16. Replacements
Stafford McDowall (5) and Jamie Dobie (5) were called upon early after the head knocks, with McDowall setting up a try for Duhan van der Merwe with nifty hand work. Dobie almost scored in the second half. Pierre Schoeman (5, above), Ewan Ashman (5) and Gregor Brown (5) all appeared on 46 minutes. Jamie Ritchie (n/a) replaced Jack Dempsey just after the hour mark. Will Hurd (n/a) and Sam Skinner (n/a) came on late. | SNS Group / SRU
