'If we hold our breath' - Glasgow Warriors provide update on Huw Jones and Kyle Rowe returns
Scotland duo in contention to face Clermont in Champions Cup
Glasgow Warriors could be boosted by the return of Huw Jones and Kyle Rowe for their Champions Cup trip to Clermont this weekend.
The influential Scotland duo are in contention to face the French Top 14 side on Saturday as Glasgow look to build on collecting maximum points from their opening two games in the competition following wins over Sale and Toulouse.
Jones has not played for Warriors so far this season after undergoing surgery on a troublesome achilles injury following his starring displays for the British & Irish Lions in Australia. Rowe, meanwhile, has missed the last five matches after picking up a knee injury against Scarlets.

"We're fortunate that Huw Jones is back training and Kyle Rowe is back training,” revealed assistant coach Nigel Carolan. “So they're certainly going to come into the mix.
“They've worked really hard on their rehab. They're very close to returning. They've just got to check off one or two things in terms of contact. But they've been on the field. It's just that they haven't done everything so far. It's going to be pretty close.
"One or both of them could be involved later in the week. If we hold our breath, maybe both can.”
Asked whether Glasgow would field a full-strength side at the Stade Marcel-Michelin, Carolan added: “We'll always put out a team that's competitive.
"One or two guys still need to be managed. With the loss of one or two backs, it's how we manage guys like Stafford McDowall, Ollie Smith and Jamie Dobie. They've had a lot of involvement. They haven't really got the breaks that some of the other guys have had.”
