Centre joins Queensland Premier Rugby side ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Glasgow Warriors have sent centre Duncan Munn on a short term loan to Australia in the hope he will gain some “valuable experience.”

The 23-year-old, who made one appearance for Franco Smith’s side during the 2025/26 season, will join Queensland Premier Rugby side Norths Rugby Club. Munn will arrive at Brisbane for the start of their 2026/27 season and will return to Scotstoun in time for pre-season preparations.

A statement from Warriors said: “Glasgow Warriors centre Duncan Munn will spend the summer on loan with Queensland Premier Rugby side Norths Rugby Club ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. Munn made one appearance for the Warriors during the 2025/26 season and will now head to Brisbane for a short-term spell in one of Australia’s leading club competitions.

Glasgow Warriors hoping young centre gains valuable experience during short loan in Brisbane

“The move will see the 23-year-old get valuable experience before returning to Glasgow in time for the start of the Warriors’ pre-season preparations. Munn’s Glasgow teammate Jamie Dobie enjoyed a successful similar loan spell with Bay of Plenty in New Zealand’s NPC in the summer of 2022.”

Munn, who can play as a winger as well as a centre, first signed for Glasgow Warriors in 2022 after beginning his senior career with Boroughmuir Bears in the Super 6. As a youngster the Kelvinside Academy pupil spent time at Loch Lomond RFC in his hometown of Alexandria as well as West of Scotland and Cartha Queens Park.

He earned 14 caps for Scotland at under 20 level and co-captained the youth team at the 2023 Under 20 Six Nations Championship. He has represented Glasgow Warriors ‘A’ on several occasions and made a handful of appearances for the first team.

Norths Rugby Club have seen a number of high profile players pull on their jersey over the years. Former Wallabies scrum-half Will Genia, who eared 110 caps for his country between 2009 and 2019, is among their alumni along with several other former Australia internationals.

The club was official founded in 1991 and play at the 5000 capacity Hugh Courtney Oval. Their history stems back to the 1930s having undergone several mergers and name changes.
