Finn Russell's Barry Hearn Matchroom move confirmed as Henry Pollock plays leading role in video unveiling
Scotland talisman makes eye-catching agency move
Scotland talisman Finn Russell's move to Matchroom has been officially confirmed, with the 33-year-old becoming the latest rugby player to join forces with promoter Eddie Hearn.
Russell follows England flanker Henry Pollock into Hearn's stable - with the peroxide forward playing a leading role in Matchroom's official video announcement for Russell.
Hearn has made no secret of his intent to lure more of rugby's star names to his agency after forming a partnership with Stellar Rugby earlier this month. Russell, who plays his club rugby for Bath, is one of the PREM's highest earners and the sport's most glamorous names.

The capture of Pollock was seen as a statement by Hearn, who made his name promoting boxing, and adding Russell is another feather in his cap. Hearn feels there is untapped potential in rugby and vowed to put Pollock “everywhere in the next three or four weeks”, including chat shows such as Graham Norton or Jonathan Ross.
Pollock was central to the social media video unveiling Russell. The Northampton back-rower plays the part of a 'matchmaker' for Hearn after mistakenly calling the agency Matchmaking, bringing Russell to the table as an apology. Russell pulls up at Hearn's house in a Rolls-Royce, and the promoter jokes to Pollock that all is forgiven.
On a more serious note, Russell can now be expected to enhance his profile and earnings after teaming up with Hearn. Capped 94 times by Scotland, Russell also helped the British and Irish Lions win their series last year in Australia and is in the Investec Champions Cup semi-finals this season with Bath.
Russell is in PREM action on Saturday evening when Bath host Harlequins at the Rec.
