Royal Dornoch tees up golf day to support Armed Forces community
Event in April at Sutherland venue will raise funds for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity
Golfers are being handed the chance to tackle Royal Dornoch at a discounted rate in April while raising funds to support Scotland's Armed Forces community.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, is staging a golf day at the Sutherland venue, which has just opened a new £13.9 million clubhouse, on Friday, 10 April.

The charity’s trained staff and volunteers provide often life-changing support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families in their time of need.
“As a keen golfer myself, I am well aware of Royal Dornoch’s impressive reputation, so I am immensely proud to see SSAFA partner with Royal Dornoch for this event,” said SSAFA CEO, Air Marshal Steve Shell.
“Playing such an extraordinary course is an unmissable opportunity for any golfer – made extra special by raising funds to recognise and support our Armed Forces community.
“It’s the continued backing and generosity of our supporters old and new that enables SSAFA to be there for the brave men and women we help, recognising their unique needs and making sure their service is never forgotten.”
Being offered at a 30 per cent discount, the cost of the day is £250 per person and includes hospitality.

“At Royal Dornoch our strong links with SSAFA in the local Sutherland community are a source of pride, and we are delighted to host SSAFA’s Royal Dornoch Golf Day at our Championship Course and new clubhouse,” said general manager Neil Hampton.
“We look forward to welcoming new golfing visitors to our beautiful part of the world and making their Royal Dornoch experience unforgettable – all while supporting the Armed Forces community in Scotland.”
