Formerly known by a number of other names - including the International Open, Matchroom Trophy and Players Championship - the Scottish Open snooker competition dates back to 1981.
It became the Scottish Open in 1998 when it was held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, moving to Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre in 2004.
Since then it’s been held at a number of venues, including the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, and back to Glasgow in the Commonwealth Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
Champions over the years have included Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, Marco Fu, Peter Ebdon, Jimmy White and Mark Selby.
Last year saw Lei Peifan take the title, with the world number 84 the lowest seeded ranking event winner for 31 years.
This year it returned to Scotland’s Capital, where it has been played since 2022.
Scotland’s John Higgins got off to a winning start on Monday by beating Antoni Kowalski 4-2, but crashed out on Wednesday, losing 4-0 to Noppon Saengkham
With Anthony McGill losing in the second round by the same scoreline - and Stephen Maguire knocked out in the first round - it means that no Scots reached the third round of the tournament.
Saturday saw Chris Wakelin beat Matthew Selt and Chang Bingyu defeat Mark Allen in the semi-finals - setting up a final that seemed unlikely, to say the least, at the start of the week.
And yesterday saw Chris Wakelin win eight frames on the trot to triumph 9-2 in a one-sided final.
Here are the results in full - and how much all the players won.
