Friday at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026: Today's full schedule of sport on day 8 of the Games and how to watch it all on TV for just £4.99

It’s the eighth full day of sporting action in Glasgow - with plenty to enjoy.

We’re now well more than half way through this year’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games, with Team Scotland currently fourth in the medal table.

Duncan Scott started the medal rush in the pool on Friday, winning gold in the 200m individual medley in a new Games record, followed by silvers for Stephen Clegg in the 100m freestyle S13 and Katie Shanahan in the 200m backstroke.

Faye Rogers then took gold in the 200m individual medley SM10 to complete a memorable evening.

Sunday saw more Scottish success with Reuben Ward taking gold in the men's all-around gymnastics, before there was yet another great home performance in the pool with Angharad Evans winning the 100m breaststroke.

On Monday Reuben Ward added a silver in the pommel horse, with teammate Cameron Lynn bagging a surprise bronze in the same event.

At the athletics Ben Sandilands and Steven Bryce took home gold and bronze respectively in the men's T20 1500m, while Keanna MacInnes won silver in the pool in the 100m butterfly swimming.

On Tuesday it was time for the bowlers to shine, with Scotland’s Para Mixed Pairs B2-B3 taking gold after a thrilling tiebreaker, while Angus Doig won Scotland's first bronze medal in weightlifting in the men's 88kg final.

Then back in the pool Stephen Clegg bagged gold in the Men's S13 50m Freestyle, while Duncan Scott helped Scotland to bronze in the Mixed 4 x 100m Medley Relay.

Wednesday was a huge day for Team Scotland with no fewer than eight medals - although one may be lost after Para-athletics authorites decided to reun Melanie Woods' 1500m T54 final after an appeal.

Still seven will definitely stand - gold for Angharad Evans in the 200m Breaststroke; silver for the Women's 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball team, Keanna MacInnes in the Women's 200m Butterfly and the Women's 4 x 100m Medley Relay swimming team; and bronze for the Men's 3x3 Basketball team, Toni Shaw in the Women's 100m Freestyle S9 swimming and Stephen Mackenzie in the Men's Long Jump.

Last time the city held the event in 2014 it was a huge success - with many hailing it as the best Games ever.

This year it’s been scaled back somewhat after Glasgow stepped in at the last minute when Victoria in Australia abandoned plans to host due to spiraling costs.

But there will still be lots to enjoy, with around 3,000 athletes from 74 nations competing across 10 different sports, from boxing to swimming.

Today there are no fewer than 13 sessions of sport spread across the city.

Here’s everything you need to know.
