Lorna McClymont on leading posse of Scots into LET card battle in Morocco
Five players flying Saltire in 90-hole battle for Ladies European Tour tickets
Lorna McClymont is back in Morocco this week hoping to improve on her encouraging first visit to the Ladies European Tour Lalla Aicha Q-School 12 months ago.
Having entered as an amateur as she kept her options open, the Milngavie member did herself proud by finishing joint-33rd in the five-round test to secure a Category 16 card.
Securing her 15 starts on the 2025 LET schedule, McClymont finished 97th in the order of merit, her best effort being a tie for eighth in the Tenerife Women’s Open in June.
“I found it really fun, especially at the start of the season not really knowing how many events I was going to get whereas now looking back I actually got a good amount,” said McClymont, who, along with new DP World Tour card holder Daniel Young, is attached to Kingsbarns Golf Links.

“Yeah, I had a lot of learning experiences this season and it is good to have that under your belt and be able to use it as I try to get a bit higher up.”
McClymont and Laura Beveridge, who finished 110th, got straight into this week’s five-week test on the back of being in the top 130 in last season’s order of merit, with three of their compatriots - Hannah Darling, Louise Duncan and Gabrielle Macdonald - joining them in the field after coming through pre-qualifiers last week.
“I’m looking forward to it, though trying not to have any expectations,” added McClymont, who starts out on Tuesday at Royal Golf Marrakech along with Macdonald and Duncan as Beveridge and Darling get underway at Al Maaden Golf Marrakech.
“You have to be patient. It’s nice to come out and make a good start, but it’s five rounds, so there’s still a long way to go. Anything can happen and I think staying patient is what I learned from last year.”
The Stirling University hasn’t played competitively since the Hero Indian Women’s Open in mid-October but insists her game is “feeling good” for a battle that will see the top 20 and ties secure cards on Saturday night.
“It’s obviously hard back home when the weather is not great,” admitted McClymont. “You have to be creative. Sometimes it’s indoors and sometimes it is out in the rain and the wind. You’ve just got to go with what you’ve got and try to keep it as competitive as you can and stay sharp.”

The Scottish quintet are among 155 card hopefuls, with England’s Mimi Rhodes having passed this test 12 months ago before becoming a three-time LET winner in 2025 and now an LPGA card holder as well.
“We are all quite pally,” said McClymont of flying the Saltire along with Beveridge, Darling, Duncan and Macdonald in Marrakech on this occasion. “So it is nice that there are so many of us here and nice if we could all be on tour together.”
