There’s now less than a month to go until Europe take on America in the 2025 Ryder Cup, due to be played at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, from September 26-28.
Initially played between teams from the United States and Great Britain and Ireland, the first match took place in 1927 at Worcester Country Club in Massachusetts.
American dominance saw the team extended to include players from continental Europe from 1979 and, since then, the biennial competition has become one of the most eager-anticipated events in the golfing calendar by both players and fans.
In 2023 Team Europe triumphed by 16.5 point to 11.5 point in Italy so the Americans will be out for revenge this year.
Today (September 1) European captain Luke Donald revealed the six players he was picking to join the six who had already automatically qualified for the team.
They will face the already-announced USA team of Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English, Bryson DeChambeau, Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young.
Here’s your Team Europe lineup in full - as they are announced.

9. Sepp Straka
Austrian Sepp Straka finished in 8th place in the Ryder Cup Points Table, just missing out on an automatic place and Luke Donald clearly thought he'd done enough to earn one of his six picks. He was also a wildcard in 2023 when he teamed up well with Shane Lowry. He won the Truist Championship in May following another triumph at the American Express in January. | Getty Images

10. Ludvig Adberg
There was never any danger of Ludvig Aberg missing out on a place at the Ryder Cup. Remember how he and Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Åberg reduced world number one Scottie Scheffler tears by demolishing him 9-and-7 in the last contest? He won his second PGA Tour title at the Genesis Invitational in February and ent on to bag a top 10 finish at the Masters. No wonder he was one of Luke Donald's picks. | Getty Images

11. Viktor Hovland
Another captain's pick is Viktor Hovland, who partnered Ludvig Adberg in that magical 9-and-7 victory over Brooks Koepka and Scottie Scheffler. He won the Valspar in March and tied for third at the US Open. | Getty Images

12. Matt Fitzpatrick
Luke Donald has decided to give 2022 US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick another chance at the Ryder Cup - despite him having only won a single point out of eight matches. He's shown a bit of form this season though, with a run of top-10 finishes inclding a tie for 8th in the US PGA and a tie for 4th at the Open . | Getty Images
