Scottish Premiership boss handed fresh contract on eve of new season as all parties given stability
Experienced coach pleased to have future resolved
Dundee manager Steven Pressley has agreed a new contract with the club.
Pressley took over at Dundee a year ago and guided them to an eighth-placed finish in the Premiership. As result, he has agreed a fresh one-year rolling contract on improved terms and has committed his future to the Dens Park outfit.
Dundee begin their league campaign on Monday night away to champions Celtic and Pressley welcomed the “stability” the renewal gives both him and the club.

“I’m really pleased, for a number of reasons,” said Pressley, 52. “Firstly, from a football perspective, it brings some stability to the situation within the club, but also from a personal perspective.
“There’s been a lot of challenges along the way, but I’ve enjoyed building relationships within the club, building those relationships with the players, with the staff, and trying to grow a culture that I hope can serve the club for many years.”
Dundee managing director John Nelms said: “We are delighted that Steven will be staying at the club, and I’m sure our supporters will be as well.
“There has been so much progress made in his first year at the club. His ability to develop players, and the group as a collective, is a perfect fit for our vision of the club going forward.
“Our squad has taken big strides forward under Steven, and we have seen young players come into the first team, develop and excel under his leadership.
“You can see from the improvements we made last season that Steven has had a hugely positive impact on the club, and as he has said there is still a long way to go on our journey, but it is very positive for our future moving forward that Steven has committed his future to us.”
