Rangers splash cash, Celtic eye £6.5m internationalist, Hibs want ex-Dortmund man - Scottish transfer news
The big transfer stories doing the rounds in Scottish football
The latest transfer stories from the world of Scottish football this Sunday afternoon:
Rangers land midfielder
Rangers have made their first signing of the transfer window after confirming the arrival of Danish midfielder Tochi Chukwuani for a fee in the region of £4 million.
Chukwuani, 22, has penned a three-and-a-half year with the Ibrox side. He was not registered in time for Sunday’s Premiership match against Aberdeen, but could make his debut in Friday night’s Scottish Cup tie against Annan Athletic.

“I’m super excited. Rangers are a huge club and I can’t wait to hear the roar at Ibrox,” said Chukwuani. “It’s a historic club with a huge fanbase. There are huge expectations, and this is something as a footballer you want to play in front of. It gives motivation every weekend to go and give 100 per cent and do what you can to put smiles on people’s faces.”
Rangers head coach Danny Rohl added: “We are really excited to bring Tochi to the club. He is a player who strengthens our group and offers specific qualities that we believe will enhance our midfield department. With experience of European competition and winning titles, as well as his technical and physical attributes, he knows exactly what is required to thrive at a club like Rangers.”
Celtic ‘keen on Bowie’
Celtic have “registered” their interest in Hibs striker Kieron Bowie, according to reports.
The Scotland internationalist scored his ninth goal of the season in Hibs’ 1-1 Premiership draw with Motherwell at the weekend and is said to be on the radar of now both Celtic and Rangers.

Celtic are desperate to bolster their options in attack for the second half of the season and at least one new No 9 is expected to arrive during the transfer window.
Bowie is said to be valued in the region of £6.5 million by Hibs, who brought the 23-year-old back to Scottish football from Fulham 18 months ago.
Hibs keen on right-back
Hibs have been linked with a move for German right-back Felix Passlack, with some reports claiming a deal will be done next week.
Passlack, 27, plays for Bochum in Bundesliga 2 and is understood to have been identified as a potential target by Hibs head coach David Gray.

Current Hibs defender teammate Grant Hanley was a former teammate of Passlack at Norwich City. He has also played for Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim.
Hibs currently have the experienced Chris Cadden and youngster Kanayo Megwa as their options at right-back.
Hearts may miss out on Mato
Hearts could face stern competition for Ugandan winger Rogers Mato after it was reported that Turkish side Trabzonspor are willing to pay more than £1 million for his services.
Hearts had a bid, believed to be in the region of £300,000, booted out by Mato’s current club FK Vardar, who are challenging for the title in the Macedonian top flight.

Now Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor have emerged as suitors for Mato, 22, who recently scored for Uganda at the Africa Cup of Nations.
FK Vardar, based in Skopje, have repeatedly maintained that they do not want to sell Mato.
