Premier Sports Cup group stage draw in full as Aberdeen, Dundee United and more discover opponents

Here is the full rundown of who faces who in the Premier Sports Cup group stages.

The Premier Sports Cup group stage draw for season 26/27 season has been completed.

Aberdeen face Queen’s Park and Queen of the South as part of their season openers while holders St Mirren are drawn against the likes of Scottish Cup finalists Dunfermline Athletic and League Two champions East Kilbride. Dundee United, Dundee, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Falkirk were the other Premiership sides to enter the competition at this stage.

Action begins the weekend of July 11th with Celtic, Hearts, Rangers, Motherwell and Hibs to enter the competition at the last 16 stage, amid involvement in European qualifiers. St Mirren’s Premiership play-off win over Partick Thistle on Monday officially brought an end to the 25/26 SPFL season but already attentions are turned to the campaign ahead. The Buddies are looking to defend this trophy that they won last December against Celtic in a 3-1 success at Hampden Park.

Former Motherwell and Partick Thistle defender Stephen Craigan, who was conducting the draw, said ahead of drawing balls out the pots: “Often Scottish football gets mocked outwith our country. There have been plenty of people speaking about Scottish football for various reasons. There’s plenty of ambitious clubs and players trying to make progress.

“I think the 25/26 season will be remembered for so many things. I think pre-season friendlies can be low-key and monotonous whereas the Premier Sports Cup, since this format has come in, players enjoy it. It’s competitive football and there’s a little bit of jeopardy in games. It’s vitally important for managers as well when you are trying to build a squad over the summer and gelling them for the league season.”
