PFA Scotland team of year revealed as 2 teams dominate amid Celtic and Rangers paucity and surprise omissions
Full results for all four divisions as players cast their votes
Motherwell have dominated this year’s PFA Scotland Premiership team of the year after five of their players were selected by their peers.
The Steelmen have earned plaudits for the way they have performed under head coach Jens Berthel Askou this season and are fourth in the table with five post-split matches remaining.
Motherwell’s displays have been recognised by their fellow players across the top flight after PFA Scotland revealed the 11 men who have been picked for the 2025/26 team of the year.

Goalkeeper Calum Ward, defender Paul McGinn, midfielders Elliot Wat and Elijah Just plus striker Tawanda Maswanhise - currently the top goalscorer in the division - made up nearly half of the team in what is an unprecedented moment for the Fir Park outfit.
Leaders Hearts contribute four players to the team. Captain Lawrence Shankland and fellow forward Claudio Braga were named alongside centre-half Craig Halkett and left-back Harry Milne.
There are only two players from the Old Firm - a low turnout by their standards. Celtic’s attacking midfielder and leading Benjamin Nygren has made the cut, while across Glasgow, Rangers centre-half Emmanuel Fernandez is also in the team.
Notable absentees include Celtic captain Callum McGregor - so often picked by his fellow pros - Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin, plus Hearts’ Stuart Findlay, Alexandros Kyziridis and Cammy Devlin. The latter’s omission is something of a surprise given that he has been regarded as one of the league’s best players this term.
There are no representatives from fifth-placed Hibs or sixth-placed Falkirk, nor Aberdeen, who are fighting to avoid the relegation play-off.
