Scottish starlet close to £5m move
Former Scotland under-21 international Kyle Joseph is closing in on a £5million move to Middlesbrough just weeks after helping Hull City defeat them in the EFL Championship playoff final at Wembley. The 24-year-old, who has been capped at various youth levels by Scotland, bagged eight goals and registered five assists as the Tigers won promotion back to the English Premier League last term, but now looks set to move to the Riverside Stadium after a breakthrough in talks over the weekend.
The Teessiders are looking to add to their attacking ranks ahead of the new campaign, with head coach Kim Hellberg aiming to go one better than last season, when they were denied promotion at the final hurdle after a playoff defeat at the hands of Sergej Jakirovic's side. While Hull are in no rush to sell Joseph, it is understood that the offer is good enough to turn down, with reports claiming the club are ready to sanction the transfer in a move that would help them fall on the right side of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

Lewis Ferguson chase ignites
Scotland international Lewis Ferguson has had a major price tag slapped on his head by Bologna, with interest in his services building this summer. The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with a potential return to the Scottish Premiership, with tentative links to Rangers emerging in recent weeks. However, it is reported that Serie A duo Atalanta and AS Roma have also registered an interest in signing Ferguson, with Bologna now facing a battle to hang on to their captain.
The former Aberdeen man has been at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium for the last four seasons, helping the club end their 51-year trophy curse when he captained the side to Coppa Italia in 2025, becoming only the second Scottish player to lift the trophy in the process. Contracted until the summer of 2028, Bologna have significant leverage in any negotiations and are under no pressure to sell, though, with interested parties informed that they expect a fee of at least £17.2million to allow him to depart.

Rangers await decision
Rangers target Bryan Reynolds will make a decision on his future in the coming days, with Ligue 1 side Rennes pushing to convince the Westerlo right-back to join them this summer for a fee of around £4million, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri. The American defender emerged as a target for the Ibrox giants earlier this month, with reports claiming that the club had an initial bid of £2.2million rebuffed by the Belgian Pro League side.
Beginning his career with North Dallas in his homeland, Reynolds has been capped four times by the United States national team. He also spent two seasons with AS Roma in Serie A prior to his switch to Westerlo. Into the final year of his contract at Het Kuipje, his departure from the club looks likely, though it is not yet clear which club has won the race for his signature.
Starting his career with North Dallas in the United States, Reynolds has been capped four times by his national side, and also spent two seasons with AS Roma in Serie A prior to his move to Westerlo in 2022. Reynolds, 24, has just 12 months left on his contract with Westerlo, and Rangers are now ready to ‘step up’ their interest in the player by launching an improved bid for him this week.
Meanwhile, reports in Italy claim that Atalanta have made an initial approach for Rangers playmaker Thelo Aasgaard. The Norwegian international is currently at the World Cup with his national side, but has been ‘sounded out’ by the Serie A side, who are also currently in discussion over a move for defender Ben Godfrey, who is expected to move in the opposite direction.

Celtic face battle for 20 y/o
Celtic face serious transfer competition for £6million-rated Borussia Dortmund winger Cole Campbell this summer, with newly-promoted Bundesliga side, Elversberg, ready to rival Martin O’Neill’s men for his signature. The 20-year-old spent a season on loan with Hoffenheim last year, but played just five times at the PreZero arena, and ended the campaign with their B-team.
Compared to United States star Christian Pulisic, the American has a desire to play more regular first-team football, and Dortmund are prepared to sanction a move if a club meets their valuation of the starlet. With Celtic looking to boost their wide options ahead of the new campaign, reports claim the Scottish champions have already held initial talks regarding a potential move. However, Elversberg’s desire to pay the required fee could scupper a switch to Parkhead.
However, Celtic could find their interest scuppered, with Sky Germany transfer expert Florian Plettenberg saying: "Bundesliga newcomers SV Elversberg are exploring a deal to sign Cole Campbell. The preferred option is a permanent transfer, a loan deal. Dortmund have been informed. Talks have started and are ongoing.”
