Rangers end their underwhelming Europa League campaign with a visit to Portuguese giants Porto this evening as they look to continue their winning run at Estádio do Dragão.
Danny Rohl’s side may be eliminated from the competition, but they will look to secure a statement win against Francesco Farioli’s side to stretch their run of victories to nine in all competitions.
Currently seven points clear at the top of Liga Portugal, Porto are looking to secure a top eight finish in the League Phase and seal automatic qualification to the last 16 of the Europa League.
They enter the game as favourites, and will be hoping to gain revenge for their 2-0 loss at Ibrox in 2019, the last time the sides met, where second-half goals from Steven Davis and Alfredo Morelos sealed a famous European home win for Steven Gerrard’s side.
But what happened to the Rangers starting XI that defeated Porto 2-0 in the Group Stages of the Europa League back in 2019?

5. LB: Borna Barisic
The Croatian full-back is another who lifted every domestic trophy during his six-year stay at Rangers. The 33-year-old left Ibrox 18 months ago to join Turkish side Trabzonspor, but struggled to get game time before being loaned to Leganes. Suffered an ACL injury on his debut for the Spanish side and was subsequently released in the summer. Returned to his homeland in the summer on a free transfer, where he plays regularly for Osijek. Recently confessed his love for Rangers in an interview, but admitted he stayed a year too long in Glasgow. | SNS Group

6. CM: Steven Davis
A modern day legend at Ibrox, Davis officially called time on his career in January 2024 after struggling with an anterior cruciate ligament injury that he first suffered in December 2022. Took temporary charge of the club following the sacking of Michael Beale in October 2023, and oversaw games against St. Mirren and Aris Limassol. Has also spent time as a coach on Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland backroom staff. | SNS Group

7. CM: Ryan Jack
The Scotland international left Rangers upon the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2024, and made a surprise move to Turkish second-tier club Esenler Erokspor shortly afterwards. Was tentatively linked with a move to Dundee in 2025, but remains in Türkiye. Started just five games this season, with his side pushing for promotion in third place, and just two points behind the summit. | SNS Group

8. CM: Glen Kamara
The Finnish midfielder was a huge fan favourite at Ibrox, having arrived from Dundee for a fee of just £50k. A pivotal part of the Rangers title-winning 2020/21 squad, Kamara also memorably scored the second goal in the 3-1 Europa League semi-final win over Red Bull Leipzig. Sold to Leeds United in the summer of 2023, he lasted just one year at Elland Road before he was purchased by Ligue 1 side Rennes. Fell out of favour with the French club quickly, though, and spent the second half of the season on loan to Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League. Now back at Rennes, he has made just one appearance this season, despite being named on the bench regularly. | SNS Group
