It was a night that burst into life with an energetic opening to each half but only in the second did Rangers make their attacks pay with two terrific team moves to create goals for Scott Arfield and James Tavernier.
The captain laid on the first, aided by a cushioned pass by Ianis Hagi into the Canada international’s path, and then started and finished the move for the second – so it’s little wonder he figures highly in the ratings on a night where Rangers collectively pulled through past some big-name players and into the group stage of the Europa League for the third time in as many years.

9. Scott Arfield - 8
Midfielder was key to the bright start made by Rangers and almost connected with Tavernier's cross five minutes in. Burst into the second half and rewarded with a goal - when he's sharp and attacks Rangers really look threatening. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

10. Ryan Kent - 7
Pace threatened on the break and looked sharp but Galatasaray recognised his threat and kept him on a tight rein for most of the night. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

11. Alfredo Morelos - 6
Should have asked more of Ozturk with a first half breakaway and header just after the break it was too easy. Couple of efforts wide could have given Rangers comfort in closing stages. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
