Steven Gerrard rang the changes, drafting in five new faces to then starting line-up that drew 3-3 in that enthralling, and exhausting Europa League match on Thursday night.
But the XI chosen were tasked with not only restoring Rangers’ nine-point advantage at the top of the SPFL Premiership, but also atoning for the last Hamilton result at Ibrox - back in March Brian Rice’s side won 1-0.
This afternoon, they made up for it and then some, coasting into a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes and racking up eight goals at Ibrox for the first time since 1981.
Scale - 10: One of the best performances you've seen. 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7: Good. 6: Average. 5: Poor, 4: Very poor. 3: A terrible day at the office. 2: Abysmal. 1: One of the worst performances you've seen.

9. Kemar Roofe - 7
Goal and assist in the first half, another in the second - ruthless, and at times maybe too much so, but involved in everything going forward and movement off Defoe creates a partnership that will be difficult for defences better than Accies'. Photo: Ian MacNicol

10. Ryan Kent - 8
Great before given a rest on the hour-mark. Looked sharper and more like his early season form - couple of assists and key role in three of the four goals. Upwards trajectory again will be good news for his manager. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

11. Jermain Defoe - 8
Focal point of the Rangers attack and unlucky to hit the post twice - but still assisted Roofe's second. Surprisingly didn't score any of the eight but made a big, quiet and unselfish contribution to his team-mates. Photo: Ian MacNicol

Recycled the squad again and his team rewarded the manager's selection with a ruthless performance. Photo: Ian MacNicol
