Steven Gerrard’s side re-wrote the record books at times with some formidable form and went over a year without losing a single league match – and only falling once in the Betfred Cup to St Mirren.
James Tavernier struck an impressive haul of goals from right-back before injury curtailed his campaign but the captain – alongside mainstays Allan McGregor and Connor Goldson – played a huge part in the season’s success with the club’s defensive record.
There were also impressive statistics at the opposite end with Rangers registering an 8-0 win over Hamilton the highlight to lead the scoring charts in the league.
As Ibrox celebrates title number 55, we look at some of the key figures behind the on-field success for Steven Gerrard’s side in achieving Rangers’ first league title in a decade in season 2020-21.

5. Connor Goldson
Steven Gerrard can't leave the defender out and so he can't be omitted from a list of the season's key figures having played every minute. Distribution and aerial threat has been as significant as his defensive duties and the double at Parkhead really brought the league title possibility into focus. Playing every minute for 70 consecutive games is an incredible achievement. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group

6. Alfredo Morelos
Season 2020-21 has not been El Bufalo's most prolific, but goals are only part of Morelos' contribution this season. There have been times where he's let the team down, but there's been others when he's stood up to be counted and shown increasing maturity. Link-up play has made Rangers a team unit and the striker a team player. Knuckled down after move to Lille fell through and Rangers would be weaker without him. Photo: RUSSELL CHEYNE
