With the transfer window now just weeks away from opening, the rumours have already began swirling around the Scottish Premiership’s top teams, and Rangers are no exception.
A busy summer saw Philippe Clement begin his Rangers rebuild with a total of 10 players signed during the summer window, including Vaclav Cerny, Connor Barron and Hamza Igamane.
After a tough run of form, the Ibrox giants currently third place in the Scottish Premiership, though they are performing admirably in the Europa League. With just four points separating them and Aberdeen in second place, Clement will be hoping to add to his squad in the January window as he looks to leapfrog the Dons and progress further in Europe.
With injury concerns subsiding, contracts expiring and potential additions to come, the next stage of the rebuild could see the Belgian’s side take on a new look come February 1st. But how would his ideal starting XI look if the early transfer rumours are true? Although so far, the mill has not been churning quite as much as a previous windows.
As the weeks count down to the January transfer window, we look at what Rangers dream starting XI could look like - but only if the rumours are true, which is far from a certainty!

2. RB: James Tavernier

3. CB: John Souttar

4. CB: Robin Pröpper/Leon Balogun
There's no denying that the Dutch defender has struggled since his arrival from FC Twente. Injuries have curtailed his progress, but he will be desperate to prove his worth in the second-half of the campaign.
