It was one of many memorable European nights at Ibrox in late 2022, but as those in attendance at Rangers’ dramatic 3-0 second leg win over Union Saint-Gilloise will attest - it was one of the best.
Facing an uphill battle after losing 2-0 in the first leg in Belgium, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side had to invoke the spirit of their unforgettable Europa League run from the previous campaign if they were to progress to the next stage of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
And it was a task both players and fans alike responded to, blowing away the Belgian Pro League outfit on a raucous night in Govan.
It took until the stroke of half-time to break the deadline, but James Tavernier had Ibrox rocking when he reduced the deficit with a well-taken penalty before new signings Antonio Colak and Malik Tillman introduced themselves to Ibrox to send the Gers through the final qualifying stage of the UEFA Champions League against PSV Eindhoven.
But where are the players from that famous night at Ibrox now? Only two remain from the starting XI, while the other nine have left for pastures new.

5. LB: Borna Barisic
After winning every domestic trophy with Rangers, the Croatian was released this summer after losing his place to Ridvan Yilmaz. Now plays in Turkey for Trabzonspor, who face a battle of their own to qualify for Europe this evening against Rapid Wien. | SNS Group

6. CM: John Lundstram
A hero of the Europa League semi-final win over RB Leipzig just months before, Lundstram had a difficult campaign in 22/23. He showed some sparks of form the season later under Philippe Clement but ended the season with a disastrous red card against Celtic and was released just weeks later. Linked up with Borna Barisic at Trabzonspor this summer. | SNS Group

7. CM: Tom Lawrence
The summer signing from Derby County made his Champions League debut in the 3-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise and, two years on, he remains very much part of the Rangers starting XI. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

8. CAM: Scott Arfield
A cult hero on the Ibrox terraces, Arfield left the club in the summer of 2023 after making 233 appearances for the club. He jumped over the pond to link up with MLS outfit Charlotte FC, but recently returned to British football to sign for EFL League One promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers. | SNS Group
