Rangers have endured some difficult moments domestically and on the continent so far this season.
They missed out on Champions League football, falling at the first qualifying hurdle to Dynamo Kyiv, and they were sorely beaten 3-0 by Celtic in the Old Firm clash at the start of last month. Then there was a delayed return to Ibrox - plus the resignation of chairman John Bennett due to ill-health.
Nevertheless, Philippe Clement’s side are only five points off top spot in the Premiership, having only dropped points to Celtic and an opening-day draw at Hearts. They are in the semi-finals of the Premier Sports Cup and while losing heavily 4-1 to Lyon in the Europa League, they did prevail 2-0 at Malmo.
The ratings of their squad tell the story of this season’s mixed bag. Manager Clement has always stressed that his team needs time to gel and mature - a commodity not often afforded to Rangers players. We give each player a mark out of 10 for their overall displays so far.

9. Jefte
The Brazilian has made the left-back slot his own after Yilmaz's injury. He is getting better defensively, although his main attribute is getting forward and supporting attacks. His efforts have meant few Rangers fans miss Borna Barisic. 7 | SNS Group

10. Robbie Fraser
The youngster has made two appearances from the bench, mainly due to Yilmaz's injury. Has fared fine when called upon. 3 | SNS Group

11. Connor Barron
The Scotland Under-21 player has transitioned well from Aberdeen and is making the No 6 role his own. Not afraid to get on the ball and start off attacks. Brings energy to the midfield. He struggled in the last European match against Lyon and his challenge will be to raise level against such exalted opposition. Can be pleased with his campaign so far. 7 | SNS Group

12. Mohamed Diomande
The Ivorian remains an automatic starter under Clement, although this season's performances have not been to the level he hit last season. Has had slight fitness issues to contend with. Scope for improvement. 6 | SNS Group
