'Keep best players': Rangers revel in announcing major new deal
Rohl delighted to have leader’s future sorted
Scotland defender John Souttar has extended his contract with Rangers until the summer of 2027.
The 29-year-old joined from Hearts in 2022 and after an injury-hit first season at Ibrox, he has gone on to establish himself as a regular starter.
Souttar’s previous deal was due to expire this summer but uncertainty about his future has now been ended by the announcement of his contract extension. Gers also hold the option of an additional year.

“It is an exciting time to be here and an exciting time to be involved at the club so I am delighted,” the former Dundee United centre-back told Rangers’ website.
“I understand the position I am in, how much of a privilege it is to play here, the demands here and I am personally really happy and excited to know my future is here.”
Souttar has been one of Rangers’ key players in their pursuit of William Hill Premiership leaders Hearts under Danny Rohl in recent months.
“Keeping our best players and our leaders is very important to having success going forward, while having a Scottish presence in the squad is also going to be key,” said manager Rohl.
“This is great news for everyone at the club with so much to look forward to between now and the end of the season, and hopefully for John, a World Cup to come at the end of it.”
