Rangers experienced another turnover during the summer transfer, as former head coach Russell Martin allowed a host of players to depart Ibrox as he reshaped his struggling squad.
Hamza Igamane, Cyriel Dessers, and Vaclav Cerny all left for pastures new in pre-season. However, Martin was unable to revive the club’s fortunes in the early throws of the campaign and found himself sacked after just one win in his opening seven league games in charge of the club.
Long-serving players such as Leon Balogun, Tom Lawrence, and Ianis Hagi also waved goodbye to the Glasgow giants upon the expiry of their contracts in the summer. Many of the club’s youngsters went out to gain valuable experience on loan.
Here we look at the 22 Rangers players who moved away from the club before the start of the new campaign, and assess how they have done for their new teams in the first half of the season. Who has found success away from Ibrox - and who regrets their decision to leave?

9. Ross McCausland - Aris Limassol (loan)
The Northern Ireland international linked up with former Rangers duo Goldson and Balogun in the summer when he completed a season-long loan move to the Cypriot club, and has been a key player for his new side. 10. Vaclav Cerny - Besiktas
A rare success story for the Rangers recruitment team last season, the Czech Republic international scored 18 goals in all competitions following his loan move from Wolfsburg. A permanent move to Ibrox didn't materialise, though, and Cerny joined Besiktas in pre-season. His strong form has continued in the Turkish top flight, with Cerny providing three goals and six assists in his 13 league appearances for the Black Eagles. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

11. Archie Stevens - Arsenal
Allowed to depart Rangers in the summer following the expiry of his youth contract, the pacey winger made a shock move to Arsenal after impressing on trial at the Emirates. Still just 19, Stevens has been a regular feature for the Gunners in the Premier League 2, while he also played for their under-21 side in the EFL Trophy earlier this season. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

12. Ben Davies - Oxford United (loan)
A flop at Rangers following his £4million move from Liverpool in the summer of 2022, Davies impressed on loan to Birmingham City as they won the EFL League Two title with a record points haul last season. Surprisingly, he didn't return to St Andrew's and instead signed a loan deal with Oxford United in the English second-tier. He's struggled for regular game time at the Kassam Stadium, though, starting just five times. The U's are currently third bottom of the EFL Championship table, and sacked manager Gary Rowett last week. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
