'I wasn't here' - Danny Rohl makes Rangers claim and explains why Thelo Aasgaard was hooked at break
Rangers head coach hails ‘dirty win’ over Livingston
Danny Rohl accepted Rangers were not at their best against Livingston but claimed they might not have won the match in similar circumstances prior to his arrival.
A Rangers side missing nine injured players dug out a 2-1 victory despite an unconvincing performance with Mohamed Diomande scoring the winner with 12 minutes remaining after Teti Yengi had cancelled out Emmanuel Fernandez’s early opener for the hosts.
Rohl has now collected four consecutive Scottish Premiership victories since taking over from Russell Martin and suggested the manner of victory pointed to the progress made under his stewardship.

“I wasn't here a few weeks ago, but maybe a few weeks ago we wouldn't win this game," he said. “There's still space for improvements, which is a good part.
“I know it was not a high-quality game from our side, but three points, and this is most important. I think I spoke about a dirty win, maybe it was exactly this."
The German detected that his side took the foot off the pedal after taking a ninth minute lead but praised the impact of substitutes Bojan Miovski and Nedim Bajrami.
“I think the first ten minutes we scored and then we felt, we are comfortable, we can carry on and it feels easy,” Rohl said.
“Then we started to be a little bit not 100 per cent focused in the small details. Our pass quality was not fast enough, then we slowed down. Then we started to be too far away in our counter-pressing. In the goal we conceded, we were not aggressive and close enough, then it was an easy long ball.

“The impact players from the bench today helped us, gave us a lift. We know that we have to improve this game.
“I think it was the first time that we really played against a deep block where we have to be in a lot of poor position. But, all in all, four wins in a row. If you asked me four weeks ago, I would take that.”
Rohl hooked Thelo Aasgaard at half-time with the Norway international again failing to make an impact, although the head coach insisted it was a tactical decision.
“For me it was important to have a centre-forward in the box against this block," he stressed. "I think that helps also for Danilo to have a bit more freedom. It was first the more tactical part, and then I decided to take Thelo off.
“I think he has a big expectation of himself, he had a good impact on the national team, they've won 4-1.
“His time will come, I will help him, we will support him, and it will come.”
