Rangers kick off their campaign with a night under the lights at Dundee United as the Scottish Premiership begins at Tannadice on Friday night (kick-off: 8pm).
Derek McInnes’ first game in charge of the Glasgow giants, the 55-year-old manager has been extremely active in the summer transfer window, bringing in seven new additions as he looks to improve on last season’s disappointing third-place finish under ex-head coach Danny Rohl.
Their hosts, Dundee United, have designs on improvement themselves, though, after an inconsistent 2025/26 campaign cemented a bottom-half finish in their second season back in the top flight. Head coach Jim Goodwin has introduced nine new signings to the Tangerines' squad, and will hope to start the campaign with three points in front of their home support.
Ahead of the game at Tannadice, The Scotsman has all the latest team news:

5. Vanja Dragojevic - Rangers - DOUBT
Joined the club from Partizan Belgrade last week, but was unable to take part vs West Ham United while he awaits his visa. His participation at Tannadice will be dependant on that being received in time. | SNS Group

6. Neil Farrugia - Dundee United - DOUBT
The midfielder could make a surprise return to the squad after taking part in training earlier this week after lengthy spell out with a hamstring problem. | SNS Group

7. Connor Barron - Rangers - DOUBT
McInnes said that the midfielder "is a wee bit behind" after a niggle he picked up prior to the club's training camp in Spain. The Scotland international has only had about seven or eight days of pre-season, meaning he may not be involved against Dundee United. | PA

8. Cammy Devlin - Rangers - DOUBT
Like Aasgaard, the Rangers new boy was forced off with injury in the game vs West Ham United, but is a slight doubt. Took part in training on Thursday though, so should be fine to start if asked. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
