The Hoops are in last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final with Aberdeen this afternoon giving Steven Gerrard’s side the chance to extend their command at the top of the table.
James Tavernier gave them the lead from the penalty spot and there was yet another clean sheet for the Glasgow side who ultimately stretched their advantage to nine points – but Kilmarnock restricted the visitors to a single goal and it was a nervy ending to the afternoon with the home side pressing for an equaliser that didn’t come.
Here’s how the Rangers players rated.
Scale - 10: One of the best performances you've seen. 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7: Good. 6: Average. 5: Poor, 4: Very poor. 3: A terrible day at the office. 2: Abysmal. 1: One of the worst performances you've seen.

13. Steven Davis - 5
On to see out the last half hour of the game and manage Aribo's minutes on return to first team. Kept it tight and sensible. Photo: Ian MacNicol

On for Morelos to stiffen up the defence, gave away a free kick with a minute to go that put pressure on at the back but didn't cost Rangers and they saw out the win. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group
